LGV (Lymphogranuloma venereum) is an STI. LGV is caused by bacteria, if you were to touch the infected area you would grow it on yourself. Some signs of LGV are bumps, ulcers, and swelling in the lymph glands near the genital area. LGV may also include rectal ulcers, some bleeding pain, and discharge.
The incubation period for LGV is about 3-30 days. It is difficult to diagnose because some people may not have any symptoms at all. If this goes untreated the ulcers will grow bigger, your genitals will swell.  If you were pregnant with a child while having LGV, the fetus would become infected with LGV as well.
The treatment for LGV is the use of antibiotics. You would have to us doxycyline, twice a day for 21 days. To prevent this from happening the best way to protect yourself is to abstain from sex, or be with a partner who has been tested and is uninfected.

  1. I learned about the incubation process of LGV. A question I had was are there any more signs you have LGV. I like how it tells how you can get LGV.
